North Carolina Volunteer Work Expedition
Join the men of Wilderness Outreach for a Men’s Work Retreat in the hurricane devastated mountains of North Carolina.
Our goal is to clear people’s properties of downed trees and do any other work that would be helpful for these folks.
This event is scheduled for the last 2 weeks of January. However, please feel free to designate what days and times you can volunteer during this time frame.
Depending on your style, you may camp out or at your expense stay in a hotel or other type of rental facility. Each participant will be responsible for his own expenses for this event.
While on the work retreat, we will observe the same disciplines of other Wilderness Outreach expeditions including daily Mass, the Prayers of the Liturgy of the Hours and evening discussions.
More information will be made available as we get closer to the dates.

Advent Hike 2024
Join the men of Wilderness Outreach for a 10-mile hike in the beauty of God’s creation of the northern Hocking Hills of Clear Creek Metro Park.
This is an all men, father and son event. The morning will begin at 8:00 am sharp and proceed with Morning Prayer and intentional discussion about our faith and manhood. All men, fathers and sons are welcome.
We will be staging the hike out of the Barneby Hambleton area on the west end of the park.

Father and Son Tar Hollow Campout 2024
Join the men of Wilderness Outreach for a weekend adventure of camping, hiking, competition, campfire discussions, prayer and worship.
This weekend is for fathers and sons of all ages. It will include hiking and team competitions like horseshoes, tug of war, dodgeball, hatchet throwing and others.
This event will be held at the Dogwood Shelter House in Tar Hollow State Forest. See map below.
The cost of the weekend is $30 per participants
Suggested show up time Friday is 4:00 pm with earlier and later arrivals accommodated. The weekend concludes by 12:00 noon Sunday.
Father and Son Discernment Campout Weekend Autumn 2024
Join Father Michael Haemmerle and the men of Wilderness Outreach for a weekend adventure of camping, hiking, competition, campfire discussions, prayer and worship.
The weekend is for fathers with sons ages 14-18. It will include a hike in Boch Hollow Nature Preserve and, manly team competitions like horseshoes, tug of war, Carry the Cross, hatchet throwing and others.
This event will be held on the property of James and Nicole Hahn, 12085 St. Rt. 93 N. Logan, Ohio. The cost of the weekend is $30 per participants
Fathers, please consider making this a weekend for you and your son. Take half a day or a whole day off from work and share it with your son in the beauty of the Ohio backcountry. These types of memories are cherished for a lifetime.
Suggested early show up time Friday is 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Later arrivals will be accommodated. The weekend concludes by 12:00 noon Sunday.
Ansel Adams High Sierra 2024
This is an expedition into the western High Sierra in the Ansel Adams Wilderness. This is a backpack in expedition with horse and mule packers. We will be rebuilding a length of trail for outfitters so that their mules and horses can navigate more easily into the backcountry.
There are 15 slots open for this expedition.
Transportation to and from the airport and trailhead will be provided by the United States Forest Service.

Western Colorado Propaedeutic Parish Mission Expedition
This expedition is for the Columbus Diocese Propaedeutic Seminarians and the Lay Leadership Team.
The team will be camping in the Western Colorado backcountry. During the day the crew will be working on two country parishes replacing the wood floors. During the evening there will be seminars about formation around the campfire in the glow of the Milky Way Galaxy.
Transportation to and from the airport and trailhead will be provided by the local parishes.
The following is the responsibility of each man:

Carry The Cross 2024
Join the men of Wilderness Outreach for this rugged and prayerful ending to the Lenten Fast. 12 miles of hiking, prayer, brotherhood, and carrying a 10’ x 7’ x 65lb cross. The suggested show up time, due to parking is 7:00 am. Morning Prayer and hike will begin at 8:00 am.
Here is a map. We are starting Carry the Cross from the Lipscomb Hollow Rd. Bridle Trailhead. You must access this from 327. Contrary to Google maps You cannot access it from the west.

Join the men of Wilderness Outreach for a morning of Prayer, hiking, and fellowship in the hills of Hocking County at Clear Creek Metro Park. 8:00 am to this rugged and prayerful 2:00 noon.
Fathers and Sons Campout
Fathers and Sons (ages 10-17). Please join us for a late winter almost spring Wilderness Outreach weekend, Friday March 15 through Sunday March 17 at Tar Hollow State Forest. The weekend will be filled with hiking, trail clearing and age-appropriate conversations about Faith and manhood. The cost is $30 per participant.
Directions to the Dogwood Shelter House: Go to Adelphi, Ohio, near Laurelville. Take 327 south to Bull Creek Rd. turn right and within 100 yards, turn left. Go south on Ridge Rd. (4) which turns into Ridge Rd. (3). until you come to the intersection of 3 and 9. The shelter house is to your right.
Man Work Retreat For: The Dominican Sisters of St. Celia
This will be the fourth time Wilderness Outreach will be working at the Nashville Dominican 100-acre retreat center west of Nashville, Tennessee.
The caravan will leave from the central Ohio area +- 6:00 am. Friday January 26 and arrive back in central Ohio late afternoon to early evening Sunday January 28.
The weekend will include physical labor to improve the retreat property, and seminars in masculine spirituality and the battle for the Good, True, and Beautiful.

Oregon Expedition
Join the men of Wilderness Outreach on this high adventure into the theology of masculine spirituality, Worship, Work, Asceticism, Leadership, and Brotherhood, in the Oregon wilderness.
On this expedition we will be working on trails in the backcountry of the state of Oregon. The days will be filled with work and prayer. Each day the men will pray the Liturgy of the Hours and celebrate the Mass.
Each evening, following Mass and dinner, we will engage in lively 2-hour campfire discussions about the theology of masculine spirituality and becoming the men God made us.
$300 per man.

Damascus Man UP! Firewood Weekend
Do you want to get a taste of a man’s call to manhood on the physical, spiritual, and intellectual levels? Then join us on this campout and work weekend at the Damascus Catholic Campus. Chain saws and splitters will be fully engaged prepping firewood for the summer youth camps. Experience “Camp Fire Word Wars”, where men compete for the coveted Ax Award. Arrive Friday evening, campout and work Saturday. Return home Saturday late afternoon. Coffee, breakfast and lunch will be served.

St. Martin de Porres Family Retreat House Man Work Weekend
Join the men of Wilderness Outreach for a work weekend at the St. Martin De Porres Family Retreat House in the Hocking Hills.
This weekend will include two nights of discussion on the topic: “Navigating the woke culture in the corporate work environment”.
All participating men are encouraged to obtain and read the book: From Christendom to Apostolic Mission: Pastoral Strategies for an Apostolic Age.
This book is only 90 pages and is an easy and inspiring read.
For those looking for extra information and a good read on the subject of the weekend check out Awake Not Woke.
The work for the weekend will include chainsaw and firewood splitting and trail building.
There will be indoor, though spartan sleeping options for men who would prefer. Bring your own sleeping gear. For those who want to grow a little longer hair of the bear winter coat, and camp outside have at it.
Suggested show up time is Friday 4:00 pm. The weekend concludes by 9:00 am Sunday.
OSU Newman / Wilderness Outreach Man-Day
Join the men of Thomas More Newman Center and Wilderness Outreach for a day of masculine spirituality at its finest.

Platte River Wilderness Wyoming Adult Laymen expedition. $300 per man.
Domeland Wilderness Adult Laymen Support Team Expedition
This is a high adventure wilderness expedition into the Manhood, Worship, Work, Asceticism, Leadership, and Brotherhood. Fr. Christian DeCarlo will be out Chaplain. This expedition is for men from Ball State University and Wilderness Outreach leadership team. $300 per man.
Domeland Wilderness College Men Expedition
This is a high adventure wilderness expedition into Manhood, Worship, Work, Asceticism, Leadership, and Brotherhood. Fr. Christian DeCarlo will be our Chaplain. This expedition is for men from Ball State University and the Wilderness Outreach leadership team.
The days will begin and conclude by praying the Liturgy of the Hours. Mass will be celebrated each day in a wilderness sanctuary built by the men.
During the day the men will be clearing and building backpacking trails in the Domeland Wilderness.
Each evening, following Mass and dinner, the men will engage in 2-hour campfire discussions about becoming the men that God made them to be.

Father and Sons Campout
Please join us for a weekend, Friday through Sunday morning late winter campout. Boys ages 8-12.
70 Miles For 70 Years
Follow John Bradford, online via the Wilderness Outreach Facebook page as he hikes 70 miles for his 70th birthday in support of Wilderness Outreach. He will be hiking from his house in Lancaster to Bremen and then toward Logan, where he will intersect the Buckeye Trail at Boch Hollow. Over the next several days he will hike and comp on the Buckeye Trail and then arrive at Tar Hollow State Forest where he will finish off his week of hiking by doing the north and south loops of the Logan Trail.
Entries of the hike will be made three times per day where he will post pictures, descriptions and videos of the journey. Please participate with John by hiking with him (sorry ladies- men only), praying for him, supplying food and water, or by donating to Wilderness Outreach.
Damascus Man UP! Firewood Weekend

Calling all men. This will be the third time Wilderness Outreach will be working at the Nashville Dominican 80-acre retreat center west of Nashville, Tennessee.
