This is an adult Laymen expedition into the western High Sierra in the Ansel Adams Wilderness. We will be rebuilding a length of trail for outfitters so that their mules and horses can navigate more easily into the backcountry.
Our Spiritual Leader and Father on this Hero’s Journey into Manhood will be Fr. Spencer Howe from the Archdiocese of St. Paul-Minneapolis.
Here is the Schedule:
Monday August 8: Fly into Fresno California. Pick up trucks and head to the Clover Meadow area of the Western Sierra. Set up a temporary camp for the night.
Tuesday August 9: Backpack in and establish basecamp
Wednesday August 10- Saturday August 13,: Trail Work, Worship, Asceticism, Leadership and Brotherhood.
Sunday August 14 Rest, Feast. and Adventure.
Monday August 15; Complete trail project.
Tuesday August 16; Hike Out
Wednesday August 17: Return Home

Transportation to and from the airport and trailhead will be provided by the United States Forest Service.
