John and Pete hiked about 7 miles today in Tar Hallow State Park. Since Monday, March 14th, John has now hiked more than 70 miles achieving his goal!

John and Pete began their hike at 11:00 EDT starting at the Shady Hollow campsite in Tar Hallow and hiked just under 7 miles as of 14:20 EDT. This mark over 70 miles since John started this Journey 5 days ago! Congratulations John!

Day 5 and a little later start today. John slept in until 0730 this morning! Peter spent the night and we prayed evening prayer and talked around the campfire. John Ford showed up this morning to hike the remaining few miles with me. Peter is fixing breakfast and next will be Morning Prayer. John and Pete hiked 15.2 miles today starting near Ash Cave in Hocking Hills and ending in Tar Hallow State Park. Since Monday, March 14th, John has hiked nearly 64 miles!

John and Pete began their hike at 09:30 EDT starting at the Ash Cave and hiked roughly 10 miles as of 14:00 EDT along the Buckeye Trail in the Hocking Hills and Tar Hollow State Forest area.

Day 4 and an 0500 start to today’s journey. John is heading out to pick up Pete Maimone who will be joining him on the Hike to Tar Hallow. Today’s leg of trek will start at St. Martin de Porres Retreat House, continuing on the Buckeye Trail to Ash Cave, and end at Tar Hallow State Park. John hiked 14.5 miles today and will spending the night at the St. Martin de Porres Retreat House.

John began his hike at 08:55 EDT starting at the Chandler’s Acres campsite and hiked just under 9 miles as of 12:00 EDT along the Buckeye Trail in the Hocking Hills State Forest area.

Here we are at Day 3 of this journey and another beautiful morning! John and Steve started the breakfast campfire, prepped breakfast, and recited Morning Prayer. Just like yesterday, John is planning to hike another 13 or so miles southwest through Hocking Hills State Forest area. Much of today’s hike will be off of the roadways and in the the tranquility and beauty of the forest. Please continue to keep John and those who will join him along the way in your prayers!

Today’s trek started in just north of Logan, ending at Chandler’s Acres just north of Gibisonville, OH and Hocking Hills State Forest. John hiked roughly 14 miles!

An early start to Day 2 and what a beautiful morning! The sun is just beginning to rise and Venus is shining brightly in the backdrop. The fire is started, breakfast is being prepared (by chef Steve Ford of course!), and Morning Prayer is being recited. Today, John is planning to hike another 20+ miles south towards Logan and Hocking Hills State Park. Please continue to keep John and those who will join him along the way in your prayers!

Today’s trek started in Lancaster, ending just north of Logan, OH for roughly 22 miles on foot. My legs are definitely sore but I am feeling great overall. For dinner, Steve Ford brought food and joined me (after full day of work in Chillicothe!) so a tremendous thank your to Steve! We had a great dinner and concluded our meal with evening prayer. I will be camping at the Hahn residence this evening and plan to get an early start tomorrow morning with another 20+ mile hike planned. Please continue to pray for me and God bless!
